likewise.  Maybe not 20 times yet, but it's doing my head in, in a good way.  I've listened to Northern so much, and I guess I was expecting part ii, but Shoals is so much its own thing - and so different to Taylor's other stuff.  I think it's growing on me, but it's more challenging, perhaps less accessible, than his other stuff.  As always, though, there's something new in it each time I listen.  How does he do that?

Well, Northern was my introduction to taylor deupree's work and i loved it and yes i think that Shoals is less accessible and more difficult to relate to. I think that in the near future i will figure it out but then i guess that if you have listened something about 20 times that means that you like it and you don't know it yet  :P

Alva Noto +  Ryuichi Sakamoto - vrioon & insen & UTP  Really great sounds, one of the best collaborations, i am in awe!

Taylor Deupree - Shoals   The funny thing about this release is that i have heard it over 20 times and i can't figure out

if i like it or not. I think that i just don't get it somehow, i can't understand the process of sounds and the technical part of this

album. This is really annoying for me because i tend to be very analytical about everything and especially about the production.

Alvin Lucier - music on a long thin wire
Really need to get myself a copy of this, thought totally no clue where it got released and if it is still available.1

i bough it from amazon last year and it was expensive! But it is one of the best experimental/minimal works ever, at least in my world
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_On_A_Long_Thin_Wire )

BTW the CC Hennix was a great recommendation!

"Thumbs up" for working with KYMA mr.deupree!
its just a great system allows you to do many things and "serious" sound-design. For my music it would be GREAT but in order to aford it at the present time i must sell my house  :P
Recently the creators of KYMA had their annual meeting in Vienna.

The apogee duet is a great soundcard.
I had really forgot about its existence somehow and the price, considering the quality of this soundcard it is just great for me. Although i don't work much with logic i prefer ableton suite i don't know if these will be a problem cause they suggest apogee with logic but i am pretty sure that this is a marketing issue.

Thank you for all the replies and suggestions.
I will consider them all for sure !!!

Hello there
Well, its time for me to upgrade my audio interface. I have an m-audio fast track pro for some years now and i am satisfied with the performance of the card and i am using an imac(snow leopard).
Now i am in between of the following 3 models : Motu mk3 hybrid, M-audio profire 2626 and RME babyface (the cheaper and the latest usb model)
Basically i am making drone/ambient stuff so i don't really know which card will suite me best and i dont care much for many i/o
I have heard that mottu mk3 has some problems. Some claims that those problems are hardware problems and some others that its a firmware problem. I really don't know....
So, if any of you have use of those interfaces please enlight me with some informations and maybe you want to add something different to my list.

Thanx!
