SYNTHESIZERS + SOUND-MAKING HARDWARE / Re: Nord Modular/Modular G2
« on: May 15, 2012, 03:10:13 pm »
@moize

first of all i would like to say that i really, really like all your sounds that you created with the nord modular. I check your blog everyday and especially now that i recently got a G2X. So, you can imagine that frustration and confusion is starting to emerge, although i must say that i had more difficult times with max/msp.

It would be nice if you can point out some releases that include the nord modular (i must say that i cannot detect its sound yet) !

if you listen to some of Moize's G1 sounds

Yes, Moize's sounds are really great and i regularly visit his blog.

Actually every morning goes like this....coffee + computer + cigaret + new Moize's sound.

I think that the sounds he created with the Nord modular persuade me to buy one of these machines myself.

SYNTHESIZERS + SOUND-MAKING HARDWARE / NORD G2X
« on: May 04, 2012, 12:59:47 pm »
I know that there is a lot of love for the g2 modular..but what about the g2x, the big brother of g2 ? The story is that i am considering to buy it but i have never played with the g2x. I have found it for 1.600 euros ( $2.093 ) in excellent condition! and i can use a little insight from other experienced users.
For the record i am familiar with the modular concept, i heavily use the TASSMAN synth and i have experience with software like Max/MSP and Reaktor.

Thank You!  :)

12K + LINE / Re: NEW 12K SHOP LAUNCHED TODAY + SALE
« on: April 20, 2012, 05:45:14 pm »
The new shop is just great, i have already purchased the three Sogar releases. The best thing is that you can chose the file format that you want to download, unlike some other stores that will charge you more if the file is in lossless formats like FLAC!!!

COMPUTER MUSIC / Re: 24 bit sample rates

In case you mean the bit depth value, it is better not to change the bit depth of a project once you have started.
Bit depth = dynamic range of your project, so the bigger the bit depth value is, the more values you will get regarding the amplitude of a song.

STUDIO + RECORDING TECHNIQUES / Re: small portable mixing desk

No, not Behringer. In my school we had some Behringer units such as dynamic processors and one controller and they always broke down. I do not recommend Behringer especially the low budget products.
On the other hand i have worked with Mackie's mixing desks and i have only good things to say. Personally i use Mackie Onyx 1620i and it's really great! but it is not really a portable gear.

Some really cool reverb plug ins... The price is extremely low for what they are capable of.
So, give them a try!

Can someone share this ? 'cause i cannot download it from the official site for some reason.

Or any other app. in order to run VSTs in Logic. I would appreciate a free app. like the one mentioned above :)

STUDIO + RECORDING TECHNIQUES / Re: mixing tips
« on: March 01, 2012, 07:44:12 am »
For some time now i mix in stems and i find this technique really helpful for my mixes. So, i create sub-mixes for the entire guitars, drums, vocals, fx-vocals etc. and then i "create" the master track.
I can control the volumes and the effects much easier that way. Also it is really helpful if you want to do parallel compression on the drums track.
