Just received my 'Static Place' in the mail,

Truly beautiful release, Would love this on vinyl, especially vinyl covered in dust with a few scratches on it played a little slower with a slightly slipping platter going in and out of time... just sayin ;)

I'm increasingly going backwards with my equipment... most of this is all fairly recent purchases trying to move away from using a computer for anything more than recording...

oldest electronic hardware - Korg mini700, tascam m-30 mixer, akai 4000d reel to reel and a pair of b&o s30 speakers... so much veneer ;) all from around the mid 70's

oldest instruments - pair of yamaha acoustics from the early 60's (nylon + steel)

oldest software... probably kt granulator...

oldest computer, rarely used 12" powerbook from 2003

ACOUSTIC ELECTRIC / Re: the Strymon El Capistan tape looper pedal

I'll just stick with my real shitty reel to reel from the 50's that someone dumped out side my house, needs a kick to get moving...but it has a random pitch shift 'feature' in that the motor will play at a different speed everytime I use it and if I put my foot on the take up real i can slow it right down to a crawl  :-*, I also only need about 75cm of tape to make a loop. Fun times!

Fallout New Vegas soundtrack.. while playing the game  ;D - actually pretty cool, I like the western abstract strings ala Greenwoods score for There Will Be Blood.
Too damn addictive though!

aside from that

Grouper - Hold/Sick 7inch- Room40 . Beautiful!

Inspired by the Jan Jelinek talk, I went back through all my records of his, LFJR and all his Farben work. Believe it or not hugely influential to our music. I think Farben's: Farben. Says: Don't Fight Phrases was the first proper electronic record I ever picked up. Still holds up today.

In the same pile of records/from the same time  - currently listening to:

Ahmad Szabo - This book is about words
Arovane - Tides
Bear in Heaven - Tunes from Next Door
mum - please smile my noise bleed ep - pretty much just for the christian klein remix - love playing this out slowed right down
