“An Underside”, the second piece in the Ante Algo Azul subscription series is complete.  Elim worked diligently designing the package for this one and it’s going to be hard to beat for the other 10 pieces we have left to finish.  (Heck, it even smells good!)  My sister, Darlyn, also took the opportunity to write a vivid poem in response to the piece, expressing how one may feel when listening, and we decided to include it in the package.  Please be sure to leave a comment when your copy arrives or post photos on your various social networking homes as I’d love to see them!

Until quite soon,

Nicholas

The first piece of the Ante Algo Azul series, "Not Knowing (for Eliane Radigue)", is 100% finished.  An original photograph, 3" disc of the piece, and a unique download code for a FLAC or 320kbps MP3 version of the piece is included inside of the hand-numbered and signed envelope.

Subscribers orders will go out first thing Monday morning.

Thank you.

All I have left to do is print the unique download code tickets, hand-number the envelopes, and seal them with a thumbprint. They will be mailed out in the next few days. Subscriptions are still available. Thank you for your support, my friends.

I've now integrated quarterly payment options of $31.25 if you're in the USA and $37.50 if you live somewhere else.  I hope this helps the people (like me) who wouldn't be able to afford a cost like this upfront.  Please check this page for more details:

Ante Algo Azul consists of 12 pieces; each will be released on a 3" CDr limited to 100 copies. The set will be sold as a subscription and each piece will be mailed individually, as it is finished. Each piece will be handwrapped in paper and, at times, a piece may also include other keepsakes like photographs, poetry, etc...

I will primarily be selling this as a subscription, but perhaps I will sell individual copies without the extra fun stuff; I'm not sure yet. If you have any questions, please email me at naszczepanik@gmail.com. Your support is greatly appreciated.

More information including a stream of one of the 12 pieces can be found below:

Quote
As an album Dear Dad can be fit in with some of the best drone albums from the past few years. This one goes without blinking of the eye as highly recommended.  Rating: 9.3/10

Goat Eater Arts has only three copies left.

Not sure what it's like on Basses Frequences end, but it's probably low as well.

At least 60 of the 200 copies have already been sold in the first week, according to the labels.  Just wanted to give you the heads up...

Here's an interesting write-up on it:  http://www.mountain7.co.uk/index.php?/archives/363-Nicholas-Szczepanik-Dear-Dad.html

SELF PROMOTION / Nicholas Szczepanik - Dear Dad CD 2010 (GEA / BF)

Dear Dad, my first solo outing since The Chiasmus, was officially released today on CD, limited to 200 copies, each in a unique Goat Eater Arts sleeve.  I don't have much to say, personally, about the album, so here's a very short excerpt that really doesn't reveal anything at all: http://www.bassesfrequences.org/songs/nszcz_whenimnolongerafraidofyou_sample.mp3

Here's a review of it in the April 2010 issue of WIRE magazine: http://grab.by/4f9z

Here's an excerpt from another review on Mapsadaisical:

"While colluding with something so very private is at times rather uncomfortable, the undeniable strength of feeling involved makes Dear Dad an unforgettable listening experience."

http://mapsadaisical.wordpress.com/2010/03/30/nicholas-szczepanik-dear-dad-goat-eater-arts-basses-frequencies/

Anyway, a special thanks to Anthony and Jerome and the respective labels (Goat Eater Arts (USA) and Basses Frequences (France)) for the support and passion in getting this out there.  And just as important, I want to thank Steven Flato for the incredible mastering job he did on this album.

If you're in the states, order it here: http://goateaterarts.bigcartel.com/product/nicholas-szczepanik-dear-dad

If you're in Europe, order it here:  http://www.bassesfrequences.org/mailorder/catalog.htm

And post back here after listening to it 'cause I want to know what you all think!  Thanks again.
