Thanks NKL!
I like your shot, is that with a tilt-shift lens? The blue-ish grass reminds me of the two strip technicolor look that Scorsese used in The Aviator.

Thanks Billy! I'm using the plastic lens, the glass looks a little to sharp for me. I have the pinhole optic too which I used on this video:

I've been playing with a lensbaby muse on my Lumix GH1 for a few months now, and finally feel confident enough to share. Here are a few photos I took in downtown LA.  ;D

Hi Everyone,
I'm excited to announce that my new release Wickerships is ready for pre-order at AhoraEterno!
Created using broken pianos, detuned autoharps, sand, wood, bells, and the pacific ocean, this collection of 10 tracks is an audio description of a submerged landscape.

SUBLAMP - WICKERSHIPS - AhoraEterno 2010

Here is the description from the label:

"Wickerships, the brand new record of Sublamp, is a trip towards an elemental region of human being. Sensibility of sounds let us think in a primal thing, instinctive. These words do not be understood if this record were something simple: there is a great sound an emotive effort to raise this level. Sounds capes are mixing, one by one. We recognize some piano, guitars, but everything is hiding behind a great musical treatment.

There are no melodies in this record. We suppose them: this is the virtue. There are space and freedom to listening to. Wickerships does not offers any trouble to hear it, but it request a trained sense. It is a great jump in his production. There are not fissures. In a time of specialization and sophistication, this record appears as a search of something essential. This is its value. "

That was great! They should do a follow up to this and check in on the current wave of minimalist influenced music.

Yes! Raymond Scott's electronic stuff is amazing. I love this Jim Henson video he did the music for:

There's also Touch OSC for the iPad coming soon. The controller software being developed for the iPad is making me really want one.

I love my Digital Harinezumi 2:

Only problems are no USB so you have to pull the sd card out whenever you want to transfer video (which is a little difficult to reach with normal human sized fingers), and it eats through batteries quickly. I've been meaning to hunt down rechargeable batteries for it because it gets expensive just replacing them.

Yeah, I was thinking the kind of rockstars who actually write and perform their own music. The Stings and Bonos and Bowies are endangered, but I think you're right that there will always be some Ke$ha-ish puppet designed by corporations to sell merchandise.
It kinda seems like super famous musicians are being eclipsed by the Paris Hiltons of the world who are only famous for being famous though. Cheaper to maintain maybe?
