There is also a free for download "best of 2000-2010" available now, which contains some great tracks from his early recordings (shame enough not "Your Son-Shine" which is one of my fav. release by him...)

do you have the link for the download?

i can jump in on the tsukimono train. he has a lot of wonderful releases. my favourite would be sketches 6/27.. but your son-shine is really nice too. warmly recommended! amazing guy too.

tons and tons of neil young. just discovered his prairie wind cd with some absolute gems on it. maybe not as good as the 70's, but close..

..and a lot of cheezy 80's for a singalong mixtape for the 20hour road trip we're (party of 8 ) going to do to get to norway... :-)

But hey, can someone clear this to me: I'm not sure what do you mean with DIY here. I know DIY is Do It Yourself but I'm not sure what it means here - do you mean I shouldn't ask anything and just do something? I mean: "Stop relying on others and DIY". I don't understand - how have I relied on others? This may be just language thing.

I think they've meant release, promote, sell and distribute the music yourself, don't bother looking for a label to do things for you. At least at the beginning, that way you are in control of your own situation.

yes. i can't speak for someone else ofcourse, but to me it seems  taylor is also completely DIY. he's a musician but releases his own music on his own label for which he also designs the artwork. i guess he manages it all himself, which to me is very inspiring.

if you go that path, and you're good at it, you'll soon encouter labels who want to release music for you and take care of the financial aspects. you'll build up a network, get to know more people / artists / labels ...

the days of the magic lucky record deal are gone i think. you could find some good texts on this topic here: http://www.musicthinktank.com/

Stop relying on others and DIY.

i would say the same. i find it faaaaarrr more fun doing everything myself rather than relying on so called 'middlemen'.
but then again, i've never had the ambition to have 10000 people hear my music. i just make it, if someone listens: cool! if you listen and you want to give me a little money for it: even better! life is pretty simple that way :-)

i like the simplicity and how the music seems to interact with the wind/grass even though it's totally random.
something simple and modest... a moving picture. or maybe i'm just easy to entertain :D

keith rowe didn't work out - but i did manage to see ben frost at le poisson rouge. awfully clubby atmosphere for his kind of music though..

strangely enough, i didn't have any ring in my ears after the insanely loud concert. maybe new york is too loud to hear that ringing, or maybe my ears are definitly damaged  ???

excellent set though. and new york is a fun city.
