my last two concerts were Sunn O))) this Thursday and Friday I went to see Moon Duo.
But great concerts. Had good fun.

Funny...I went to see SunnO))) a few summer backs and left 15 minutes after they started....it was a small second floor club, 90 plus degrees with the humidity making it feel a 100 plus, not to mention it was packed. The fog machine that accompanied Sunn O))) fogged the place out. Couldn't see a thing, ever! So, i thought it pointless to be standing in a packed room filled with fog and my boxer shorts sticking to me. They did sound good, though....

When I left, fog was pouring out the windows which made the building look as if it were on fire.

Do people these days listen to one thing over and over anymore?…they should if they don't.

Rhythm & Sound - 'With the Artist' and 'See Mi Yah' has been my driving soundtrack for about two weeks now.

Fela - The Musical

Saw it on the last day after months of showing in Detroit.
It was mind blowing awesome!!!!

Then a few weeks ago I went to see Baroness open for some other band. Always a good live gig!

Who doesn't remember hearing 'License to Ill' for the first time or the fact that 'Paul's Boutique' was a game changer.

His presence in music will be missed and a part of my childhood passed with him.

When I was young I was pretty much into Hardcore Punk and such, just a few things did stick around...
So now I am playing about the whole early discography of Lärm. Almost one hour of old school pre-grindcore noise about politics and being straight edge.

 ;D

That was my scene, too - late 80's to mid 90's hardcore punk. LOVE IT! It's what I cut my teeth on.
I used to play guitar in a Detroit band called, Empathy. We put out a few full lengths and few 7 inch records between '93-'96.

Currently listening to: 7 Seconds - Soulforce Revolution. It's not the 'The Crew' but it's still great.

Just finished Battle Star Galatica (the newer version) and holy fracing cow! That is some highly thought out and deep sci-fi.
My wife even loved it.

Can't recommend this enough!!!!

how did you like the ending?  it really divided opinion, but i thought it was good.

I was hoping it would be darker...however,  I was satisfied with it.
There's still some ambiguity for me but that just means I dwell on the closure a bit longer. Which I like. Usually, that's a good sign.
Clearly, a divine hand set things in motion. Pretty clever for being sci-fi.

STUDIO + RECORDING TECHNIQUES / Re: mixing tips

All great replies and a great thread!

I find having a good friend who is a professional recording studio engineer helps my confidence.

Also, I try to get as much done outside the box regarding sound quality and level. I don't like working too much ITB. I find it to be a slippery slope.

And I'm a long time subscriber to TAPE OP!

Starting with six different hop varietals added to the brew kettle & culminating with a massive dry-hop addition of Simcoe hops, Bell's Hopslam Ale possesses the most complex hopping schedule in the Bell's repertoire. Selected specifically because of their aromatic qualities, these Pacific Northwest varieties contribute a pungent blend of grapefruit, stone fruit, and floral notes. A generous malt bill and a solid dollop of honey provide just enough body to keep the balance in check, resulting in a remarkably drinkable rendition of the Double India Pale Ale style.
