Gregg Kowalsky - Tape Chants (Kranky, 2009)
Still blowing my me away. Also one of my favorite albums from 2009. Wonder what he will come with next.
Read somewhere he is doing something with his girlfriend "Darwinsbitch". Could become really interesting.

Hi Sietse. That's correct, the album has just been released on Root Strata; Date Palms - Of Psalms. Nice one! Got my copy in the mail today  :) Best, Roel

Yep, noticed! Quality and durability are according to the price. It just sits on my desk in the living room for quick sessions where i don't need any keys. For that, it'll do.

Vinly or cd?

I am in doubt of getting it on vinyl also, lovely album.

Hi Sietse; the vinyl edition. Wonderful album indeed.
It's sold out at most places but the room40 website still has a few copies for sale.

Can be either midi only or USB. Tha Akai looks compact and comes at a nice price. Will keep it in mind.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a very compact midi controller, preferable with 4 to 8 knobs only. The Doepfer pocket control would be fitting my needs, but unfortunately i cannot find one for sale - at least not for a reasonable price. I hope you guys may have a suggestion for a standard / custom controller.

Thanks in advance!  :)

Best, Roel

I'm really satisfied with my PCM-D50. I think the build-in mic's are pretty good (but use a windscreen ;) ) , the device is very easy to use and has some nice addon recording features. The hours it works on a single set of batteries is impressive! Only 'con' is it has no phantom power or XLR inputs, but my contact mic and hydrophone work decent enough on the 2v for what i do. The PP/XLR addon module that is offered online is quite expensive  >:(. All in all, i wouldn't easily switch this recorder for another.

Best,
Roel
