SYNTHESIZERS + SOUND-MAKING HARDWARE / Ciat-Lonbarde Coco...
« on: April 03, 2013, 06:37:42 am »
I picked up one of his (PeterB) older instruments (Cocolase) a few months back but sold it to get a CocoQuantus and if you haven't had a chance to play on one they are quite amazing! Its two digital delays/looper with VCO's for modulating different settings of the delays... Very Lofi and warm sounding... If you have a chance check it out... He also makes an incredible drum machine/synth called the PlumButter...

This is a track I did with the Cocolase so you can get an idea of how it sounds...

It seems to be a big brother to the Freeze pedal? But not much has been leaked out as of yet...

STUDIO + RECORDING TECHNIQUES / Ground loop!...
« on: March 13, 2011, 05:43:41 pm »
Hi Guys... Wondering if anyone could help me out... I'm running a Mac Book Pro with a M-Audio UNO USB to Midi into my Synthesizers.com Q104 Midi/CV converter... Now when I plug it in I get white noise introduced into my audio? When I go into my audio without the UNO there is no noise... So its the damn Mac USB! So my question is can anyone recommend a ground loop isolator? Or a work around the Mac USB noise? I'm worried that the ground loop isolator will impact the sound? oh and my sound card is the Apoggee Duet... Many thanks in advance...

ACOUSTIC ELECTRIC / Taking the electric plunge...
« on: January 20, 2010, 10:22:33 am »
Hi Joe here. I'm finally looking into getting an electric guitar but I have no idea where to start :-\

I'd like to get something VERY inexpensive ( I know you get what you pay for ) but I want to start small and see if I even gel with it...

Any recommendations on a beginner electric? I would be using it more as a tonal or textual generator and learn to play as I go...
to get an idea of the sounds I work with check out www.myspace.com/fernlodge

Thanks in advance...

Joe
