SELF PROMOTION / Brandon Hurtado - Ambient/Experimental from Virginia

Hey thar 12k. I've been making ambient music for a little over a year now. If you could give me any feedback at all, weather it be good or bad, please do! I try to make simple music (either in sound or process) for people to calm down with. I produce, write, and do everything else myself. I'm still overall trying to figure out production, so if it sounds amatuerish, it's because it is!

STUDIO + RECORDING TECHNIQUES / Starting off with Reel to Reel

First off, hello! I'm Brandon.

Second off, I've been wanting to utilize reel to reel for a while now, mostly for ambient/drone music. I want to use it mostly like an instrument/sampling tool as opposed to a means to record with. What's the best way for me to go about utilizing and purchasing a reel to reel for the first time? If there are any resources/guides on how to use a reel to reel in an ambient/musical way would be awesome.
