SELF PROMOTION / marcus fischer + the oo-ray "tessellations" LP

hey all,
just wanted to let people know about the new collaborative album i have out now with ted laderas (the oo-ray).
it is based on a series of long form improvisations with ted on cello + electronics and myself on guitars, electronics + misc instruments. it is a ltd run of 250 LPs (+ download code), hand numbered with two color screen print on recycled cardboard sleeves.

they are available from Optic Echo + Experimedia (US)
and Norman (UK).

just wanted to post here about a live set that i put up on bandcamp. it is a recording of a recent show i did using a 25 foot long tape loop strung floor to celling in the event space.  i posted it as a name your price download to try and raise money to replace my stollen field recorder.

hello all.
in case you missed it, on February 22nd cory allen + i released a collaboration to celebrate our shared birthdays. it consists of two twenty-two min tracks. each was assembled using only samples provided by the other person.

we released it as a pay-what-you-want digital download (w/ a suggested price of $2.22).

OTHER MUSIC / personal musical highlights of 2011

here are a few of my musical highlights of 2011.

monocoastal selling out shortly after it's release (a bit bittersweet).

traveling out to new york in the snow + ice to record and photograph what would become "in a place of such graceful shapes" with taylor deupree.

scoring a new studio space just outside our new house.

performing at substrata 1.1 in seattle and meeting so many great artists and people with a great love of music and sound.

finally, after much correspondence, meeting, recording and traveling with simon scott.

seeing The Sight Below's live set get shut down by the portland police.

dinner with taylor, simon, mim1 + steven vitiello after a very long day in new jersey.

the trip to boston with taylor + simon. and being shown a few choice spots in town by john twells.

playing a song as a trio with Clem Leek + the oo-ray in portland.

recording a new collection of collaborative tracks with ted (oo-ray) laderas.

anyone who knows me could tell you that my 2011 has been filled with ups and very extreme downs... so here's to saying good-bye to a personally rough 2011 and welcoming an optimistic 2012.
i wish everyone the best in this upcoming year.

here is a little audio buffer reverser plugin that i put together in sonicbirth. it does full speed or half speed, there is no beat sync so it just does what it does when it does it.

ART / one year today.

so i finally reached my goal for dustbreeding.com
i have now posted 365 consecutive days of creative projects (music, video, drawing, sewing, design + so on...)
the piece that finished out the year is a rapid slideshow of photos taken over the last year.
i decided to continue the website beyond the one year mark but instead of posting daily i will try and focus on a mix of my one day projects and bigger long term projects.  so, less frequent posts but hopefully more ambitious things.
like...
i hope to finish up an album length collection of songs based on music that i made over the course of the last year and making good quality prints of some of the letraset animals that i created.
