That's insane. It reminds me of Spirograph.

the waves are nice, but the dust is the best bit :)

Thanks Martin. I thought it sort of ruined the photo a touch. Glad to hear you like it.

Wow. Thanks for posting that up Florian. I feel honoured. The waves came out pretty nicely but it's a shame about the dusty bits covering some of the sky  :(

Picking up my copy of France Jobin's - Valence (LINE), can't wait to hear this.

Huge fan of France's

You'll find it well worth the wait, no doubt. It's completely engrossing. An hour seems to pass by so quickly. Currently listening to....

Shaula - Adenium - Twisted Tree Line

....really tranquil stuff from Shaula, as always.

yep, you should be able to get a copy no probs.  celer played a really nice set, as did illuha who played with asuna.  part of a small japan tour they are doing together.

That's good to know. It sounds like it must have been a quality night.

yeah, it hasn't actually been released yet.  celer played a show here last night and he was selling copies at the merch stand.

I see. No need to worry just yet then. Thanks for letting me know and hope it was an enjoyable performance.

celer + machinefabriek - masstunel/mt. mitake 7"

Hi Darren - Where did you get the Celer & Machinefabriek 7" from? I really want to secure a physical copy of that one before it sells out but couldn't find any information on it beyond what is stated on the Machinefabriek website saying that it's due out next month.

FIELD RECORDING / Re: Portable/Live Recording Tascam DR-1 or Zoom H4N?
« on: January 19, 2012, 01:35:19 pm »
Hi Richard.

You'll probably laugh but I've used a Zoom H1 for the past year or so and it's served me incredibly well. It's obviously not state of the art but once you learn how to use it, you can get some nice, clean recordings. The H1 is at the cheap end. If Zoom can be bothered to make a decent recorder for £70 then it suggests that their more expensive stuff might also be quality too. I'd love an H4N and believe it would be worth every last penny. But I've never used a Tascam device since the 4 track days so couldn't give you an honest comparison.

Rutger Zuydervelt has talked about recordings that he's done via a digital recorder made by a firm called Marantz. If you've heard his work then you'll know that it's about as clean as you can possibly get. Can't remember the name of it, but last time I enquired he mentioned a recorder that is pretty much in the same price bracket as what you're looking to spend.
