Picked up Air Texture Vol 2 yesterday - not usually a compilation kind of guy, but this is a great lineup.  Nice work by Loscil and RA Irisarri :)

Also a Deutsche Grammophon release of Steve Reich's Drumming.

Hi everyone - I've returned from the void. Life currents shift and new waves carry one off in new and unexpected directions - but things have settled most pleasantly (happy to report)...

Looking for some new sounds. Hoping to lurk some out of this thread ;-)

Currently listening to: Sublamp - Cathedrals
Lately it's been back to Biosphere - Shenzhou, The Field - Looping State of Mind and Steve Reich - Music for 18 Musicians (Grand Valley State U)

I have to agree, his work as Nebris is my favorite of his. He's really managed to distill and concentrate his methods and concepts. It is dense (as in rich) but extremely satisfying.

SELF PROMOTION / Re: Federico Monti : Polen (free download)

Sweet. I first stumbled across Federico's music on Archive.org and instantly loved it. It has always seemed to me that he should enjoy a bit more "press" but sometimes it is almost like he is invisible (or that could just be my limited awareness)...

Thank you!

For those who know James and those who have yet to have the pleasure, Nebris has just posted a hefty archive of past recordings from his micro-label Dystonia EK. There is some really great stuff in there, I highly recommend it.

Hi everyone. I'm finally making my way back in here after the big ploof. :-)

has anyone tried one of those kindle/sony readers? any thoughts on them?

I got a Sony PRS-505 a couple of years ago, and I LOVE it. It's perfect for me, because I tend to gather a lot of text material online and I find it a bit of a chore to read it at my desk off the screen.  Now I can crash out anywhere to read. Plus, it'll read all the important formats too.

I use it so often that when I am reading something on paper (gasp) I feel like I'm cheating on my ereader.

As for the new Sonys I've checked out the 700 at the Sony Store and I'd say it's about the best of the current crop. Has some sweet features, like marginal notes and highlighting.
