laptop computer.
the leaders of the laptop revolutin come from the experimental and
minimal techno worlds. they create patterns of clicks, bleeps, and
clips using their desktop and portable computers (for performing
live) - and a lot of creativity. california's jaspter and kit clayton,
and 12k label head taylor deupree are among the leaders. according
to deupree, micro-styled laptop music "puts a big focus on the innovation
of sound and synthesis techniques... we're tying in sound, art,
and the exploration of new forms of music."
